Wednesday Wishlist

Wednesday Wishlist

Is my Wednesday Wishlist a little random? Maybe. Is it mine? Totally! This is a list of 5 things I have on my wishlist this week.

Please note that I haven’t been sponsored for any of the items on my wishlist. I genuinely want these things without any prompting! There may be an affiliate link or two thrown in there, but I haven’t been compensated for any of these items.

A Cute Shirt Dress

I love a good shirt dress, y’all! They are so easy to dress up or down, and I love to accessorize them. You can make one dress look like 5 different dresses by styling it differently!

Over-the-Knee Boots

This is something I’ve been wanting for a couple of years now, but I never have the stones to go ahead and buy them. This might be my year! I like the potential for them to make me look taller, and I think they look so chic when styled just right. I love wearing boots in the winter and fall, but I need to add some variety to my wardrobe since I’ve just donated a few pairs and thrown out some worn-down pairs.

A Fall/Winter Perfume

I’m a total weirdo when it comes to perfume. I have what I like to call a dog’s sense of smell. I have a super strong sense of smell, and going through the September Whole 30 actually made my sense of smell even stronger, if you can believe it! I’m a subtle floral fragrance gal, and I’m a little bit of a fragrance snob sometimes. I worked for Ann Taylor for seven years (from my college graduation until 2014 – full time, part time, and even as a floor manager at one point), and during that time, we had a little fragrance lesson when AT introduced a new fragrance years ago. We learned not to rub our wrists together when applying fragrance (it changes the scent), we learned to wait a few minutes after testing out a fragrance to know how it really smells, we sniffed a ton of coffee beans to cleanse the palate, and a ton of other things that made me feel like a fragrance expert. At the time, one of our best salespeople was actually a fragrance consultant for Flowerbomb at Nordstrom, so she taught us a bunch of other tricks that I won’t bore you with today. I’ve already gone off on a long enough tangent!

Anyway, I really need to restock my perfumes for the season. It’s funny because your body chemistry can alter the way a fragrance smells on you and to you, so I can’t use the same perfumes for years at a time. I know that sounds weird, but if you think about it, it’s probably true for most of you too! (I don’t know how I wore Clinique Happy when I was a teenager. It is totally not adult me’s cup of tea.) I was a big Burberry Body girl a few falls back, but when I tried it again last year, I wasn’t feeling it. Chloe makes great fragrances, but I haven’t given them a sniff in a while. What I do know is that I still love Dior Addict to Life, despite the fact that it’s pretty much been discontinued. I need to find that dang perfume, man!

What kind of fragrances do you guys like? Any fellow floral fragrances lovers out there? Any recommendations?

A Warm Running Jacket

I have a great running jacket that I can wear for evening runs, and I even have a thicker jacket I can wear for colder runs, but I’m really in the market for a water resistant running jacket that allows me more flexibility. I want to be warm without feeling bundled up
I really like this Saucony Vitarun Jacket. The color is great, and I already love the Saucony jacket I currently own.

A Cute Fall Scarf (or Two)

I love scarves! I have fallen in love with ponchos because they remind me of gigantic scarves! BUT, my scarf collection isn’t as versatile as I want it to be. I don’t have but maybe one or two scarves that I can wear in the fall without them being considered outerwear scarves. I have to remedy that! Nordstrom has a totally cute collection of scarves, many of which are not expensive at all!

What’s on your wishlist this week? Anything you’ve been wanting for a while but haven’t had the motivation to go out and get them? Do you have any recommendations for my wishlist?
