#AwareWithPink and Improving My Workout Ambience

Have you ever needed something, but didn’t know where to start looking for it? That’s how I was with wireless headphones. Time after time, I would get all tangled up in my Tabata workout, coiled up in my dumbbell curls, or get everything knotted together on my long runs. Surely there’s a better way, I would tell myself. I mean, it’s 2016! Somebody had to come up with a way to make it easier to listen to music while working out!

Time went by, and every time I would tell myself, I really need to research wireless headphones, I just never followed through. That’s why, when I heard that I would have the opportunity to test out the AfterShokz Trekz Titanium headphones, I jumped right on it!

At the gym, post workout. Sweaty. Stoic.
Proud I didn’t ruin my headphones with all of that sweat!

These headphones are absolutely amazing! Seriously! It took me a little bit to figure out how I wanted to wear them (I have increasingly sensitive skin, and hate having things rub against me), but once I figured it out, I rocked some amazing workouts! I think it would have helped if I’d been given some Fitbands (they add comfort for some people) to try to make it work for my alien head, but I made it work nonetheless! From AfterShokz, this is how you’re supposed to wear them:

The transducers rest on the cheekbones, in front of the ears. The frame should loop over the ears, with the band resting behind the head, close to the neck.
The Fitbands are the two small rubber loops included in the accessory bag, intended to offer a more secure or comfortable fit for some users. They slide over the transducers, and rest mid-arm on the frame, with the flap facing up.

Some of the things that make these headphones special are that they’re sweat resistant (major), wireless, and they don’t go inside your ears, that way you can hear things around you while rocking out. At my last track workout, I was GETTIN’ IT, but I could also hear the cicadas in the trees around the track, which meant that I could also hear any people who might approach me. Safety first, people!

At the track, in the crazy heat, all sweaty and gross but JAMMIN’!

As many of you already know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. AfterShokz has team up with Bright Pink to help raise awareness – and money – for breast and ovarian cancer prevention and early detection. For every unit of the (limited edition) pink Trekz sold, AfterShokz will donate 25% of the proceeds to Bright Pink! Additionally, every time the hashtag #AwareWithPink is used on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, AfterShokz will donate an additional 25 cents to Bright Pink! Don’t worry! You don’t have to wait until October to shop and spread the word! The #AwareWithPink campaign will run from now until October 31, 2016. Start tweeting/posting your buns off!

Oh, and another cool thing AfterShokz is doing: You get a free, small, hard case with any Trekz Titanium Pink purchase! Add the item to your cart and apply the code PINK at checkout to receive the case for FREE!

Okay, so now my question for you: What are you waiting for?!

If you want to learn more about these amazing headphones, check out tonight’s #BibChat on Twitter! Just follow along with the hashtag, starting at 9pm Eastern.

Have you ever embarrassed yourself at the gym by getting tangled up in your headphones? Have you ever had your headphones pop out of the jack while you’re running a race? Have you ever tried wireless headphones? Because if you answered those first two questions with a yes, it’s about that time!

  1. Girl, you might think I am nuts when I say this but… I DO NOT listen to music when I work out, thus headphones are not something I purchase on the regular! 😮 – People look at me like I am a Cyclops! LOL!

  2. i love these pink headphones! i have a pair as well. what's great about these is they don't fall off your ears. other bluetooth ones would wrap themselves around my neck while i worked out. these stay in place!

  3. Those look great! I just heard the iphone is supposed to be coming out with something like this but for those (like me) that aren't going to upgrade yet, these would be awesome!
