Fit Fashion Review: prAna Willa Top #pranaspringstyle
If you’ve been following me on Instagram or Twitter, you’ve noticed I’ve been on a rollllll with my yoga practice! I have fallen in love with the studio where I practice, and the free classes hosted by my job (taught by none other than Cardigan Sarah!) have just been a cherry on top!
Speaking of a putting a cherry on top, the cherry on top of being a Sweat Pink Ambassador is that you get to not only be part of an amazing group of women, but you also get to try out some pretty sweet products too!
Over the last month, I’ve been testing out the Willa Top by prAna. I chose the Willa Top because I looked at a bunch of reviews of different prAna tops, and this one was recommended for ladies with a fuller bust. After a pretty egregious wardrobe malfunction in one of my vinyasa classes — thanks to a too-loose top and a not-so-supportive sports bra — I decided that I needed to find a top that had enough support that I wasn’t bustin’ loose all over future classes.
Remember that cherry on top? Well, thanks to impeccable timing, I was fortunate enough to have an opportunity to review a prAna product, thanks to a partnership with Sweat Pink! The folks over at prAna sent me the Willa Top to check out and tell you all about!
First things first: The top came in super low impact package, and was wrapped up nicely — and without tissue paper or loads of plastic!
This top is one of their Chakara performance knits, and has moisture wicking and mesh built in to keep you looking fresh during even the most grueling practice. It has maximum support, as the built-in shelf bra is lined and even comes with hooks so that you can adjust the back to fit your body.
As you can see from the photos, there are a few more tags than what I’m used to. When I looked at the tags, I saw that one identified this top as being made from a bluesign approved fabric. What does this mean, you ask? Well, I’ll be honest: I asked myself the same question, and was very pleased with the answer! Bluesign-approved fabrics are considered the highest standard in the textile industry for environmental health and safety and chemical management. In layman’s terms, these fabrics are produced in an environmentally-friendly manner which are safe for the people in production. I care about our environment, and it’s great to see companies take on the challenge of working to make less of a negative impact on our environment.
Don’t say we never learn anything here at Flecks of Lex! Now, back to the review!
I have found that prAna tops can run a bit small for women with a fuller bust. If you’re in between sizes, I recommend sizing up. You want to be able to move through your yoga practice without fiddling with your clothing, right?
I must add that the Willa Top is a great length! I wasn’t worrying about my stomach popping out of my top in the middle of my practice (super distracting, I must say), and the design was sleek and flattering so I felt extra confident while striking difficult poses. The material was sturdy without being inflexible, which tells me it’s good quality and is going to last through a lot of yoga!
Not only can I wear this top for yoga, but I can also use it for other low-impact sports! This top would be great for rock climbing, pilates, hiking, or a number of other activities. I didn’t test it out while lifting, but because of the design of the back, and the fact that it didn’t interfere with any of my yoga postures, I believe this would be a great lifting top. It’s long enough, stays in place, and the straps aren’t cut in such a way that they should shift while working out your upper body.
I’m really so happy to have gotten a chance to receive this top courtesy of prAna! I love the bright color, the quality, the support, and the fact that the company is trying to make a difference!
