Fit Fashion: UA Pure Stretch Underwear

It has been a while since I’ve done a review, so I thought I would hook you guys up this week!

A few weeks ago, I stopped by the Under Armour store near my house. Usually, I just order Under Armour online, or pick it up in another store that carries multiple brands; however, this time I decided to check out the UA store. Okay, sure, I had a coupon for some free drawers. That’s what made me go to the store. 🙂 BUT, I did need to pick up some new HeatGear running shorts anyway, so why not?

So I went to the store, loaded with my little coupon booklet I received in the mail, and sought out these free underwear. The sales associate showed me the underwear section. I was actually pretty impressed! There were so many different colors, and a few different styles, and they were all in these little boxes. Super cute!

I settled on the Under Armour Women’s UA Pure Stretch Thong (affiliate link), since I’m a volleyball player and don’t need to appear to have four butt cheeks under my spandex shorts.

I’ll be completely honest with you (duh): I did not believe that sports underwear actually made a difference. Seriously! All that mumbo jumbo about how it was supposed to make your nether regions experience a workout differently than the rest of your body definitely caused me to roll my eyes. Really, sports companies?

Lo and behold, that thong was amazing! I wore mine during my first leg of the American Odyssey Relay, which was the hottest, sweatiest, and most difficult of my three race legs. Normally, my entire body would be sweaty. I don’t care if that’s too much information. That’s what I’m here for, isn’t it? 😉

The way Under Armour wicks moisture has always been super impressive to me, which is why I own so many of their tops. That their underwear has the same technology is wonderful, and I can attest to its amazing moisture-wicking power. As sweaty and disgusting as my whole body was by the time I finished those 7.4 miles, my drawers were totally dry! Whoop whoop!

The material is thin, and there are no seams, which means that you couldn’t see them through my compression leggings, and I didn’t have to deal with the sides riding up.

What’s perhaps the most interesting that is that the underwear comes one size fits all (or most?). I’m not sure how I feel about this. I mean, yeah, it fit me, but I’m not sure how it works for people who are smaller or bigger than I am. Maybe some of you lovely readers have some feedback here?

All in all, I love these! I want them in different colors! I wish they were cheaper, but I understand that you can sometimes find them on sale. Mine were free thanks to that mailer, so I guess I couldn’t get it for any cheaper than that, right?

TL; DR: 10/10 would buy again. They’re cute, comfy, and they work!

Have you ever tried athletic underwear? If not, what’s holding you back? Is it the mumbo jumbo? If so, which brand do you recommend?

  1. My husband bought me these and I know he was trying to help but they kept riding up. Perhaps I need the thongs. I saw them in my closet the other day. Perhaps I will give them another try. #wowlinkup

  2. This is awesome that you reviewed these since I have been wearing them and was JUST talking about them at my track workout last week. I have a love/not love with them. They wick amazingly and keep everything dry. NO PANTY LINES. This is awesome, especially in tight capris or some of my run shorts that really show lines. But I don't wear thongs and I was constantly picking my wedgie at track so I was joking that it should say "one size fits MOST". I still love them and wear them all the time – it doesn't do it all the time, just sometimes. So maybe it depends on which shorts or pants I'm wearing. Or maybe I need to try the thong version, I just don't do thongs usually!

  4. I'm a volleyball player, so I think that my options are commando or thongs, and I'm not a commando kinda lady lol Maybe because I wear them all the time I don't feel like I have a wedgie? (TMI ALERT) Does your crack get desensitized? Is that a thing? I don't wear any other style when I workout because wedgies are just the worst!
