Mini Yoga Flow for a Full-Body Warm Up Before Exercise

As a fitness professional, I often have multiple workouts in one day – especially on days where I’m teaching group fitness classes or yoga (aka every day ending in Y!). I tend not to count the classes I teach as a workout because I’m really guiding my students through their workouts, and will sometimes walk around and provide additional adjustments and cues (always hands-off these days!), which means I’m not working at 100% for 100% of the time! Also, have you ever tried talking the entire time you’re working out? Yeah…

Needless to say, I fit in two personal training sessions a week with my awesome trainer, I play volleyball, run, have my personal yoga practice, and hike (I think that covers it?). In the summer, I also tend to participate in fitness conferences, wellness events, and other activities that burn a ton of calories and require a lot of energy.

I think it’s fair to say that I’m a pretty active person!

One of the keys to leading an active lifestyle is preparation; that goes for everything you do leading up to the workout, and everything you do once your workout is complete. As the saying goes, when you fail to prepare, prepare to fail!

For me, an easy-to-make pre-workout drink helps prepare me for success in even the most challenging workouts, and it may even give me a little energy boost on days where I feel like I’m dragging (hello, caffeine, my old friend).

My current pre-workout drink includes products from the NOW Sports Product Line: D-Ribose Powder, Organic Pumpkin Seed Protein Powder, and BCAA Blast. I mix these products in with water, shake it up, and hit the road!

NOW Sports products are formulated using the latest clinical research and scientifically proven ingredients – PLUS, all products contain natural ingredients and absolutely no artificial colors, flavors, or sweeteners. Only the good stuff!

In this video, I’m going to walk you through a short yoga flow that will get your muscles and joints warmed up and ready to tackle your workout. We’ll target the hips, shoulders, hamstrings, glutes, and core in this full-body warm-up.

Now that you’ve gone through this short yoga flow, you should be ready to rock your workout!

Make sure you are properly hydrated before, during, and after your workout. Once I’ve finished my pre-workout drink, I like to add an Effer-Hydrate tablet from NOW Sports to my water bottle for an extra boost of electrolytes – especially on hot days or in a hot gym. As I like to say, if you stay hydrated, you don’t have to get hydrated!

You can try any or all of these NOW products for 20% off with the code FLEX at nowfoods.com. It’s valid until the end of August 2021.

Go get ‘em!
