What I Did (or Didn’t Do) This Week
Well, this was the first full week of the new year. How did I do?
Sunday – I was recovering from a volleyball tournament, and ended up having to work on my feet for 5 Sherlock 🙁 I cooked a delicious and healthy dinner, which I discussed here. I walked a lot of steps because of work, but didn’t do any real exercise. It was supposed to be my recovery day!
hours, despite wanting to curl up and re-watch every episode of
Monday – Little brother’s birthday, and where did he choose? A Chinese buffet. OHHHHHH the temptation! I was proud of myself for not eating a single fried thing there, and I probably drank a gallon of water the whole time to keep myself from eating more. This was just one of a few tests I passed this week!
Tuesday – Tuesday, I was back to volleyball. I played a match against a pretty easy time, but we ended up losing a player to a sprained ankle halfway through the match. Poor thing! It was her driving ankle, and she had a long drive home. OUCH! I ran a ton of steps during the second half of that match, as we only had 5 people on the court. Overall, got a workout in for an hour and some change, and was able to sleep well that night.
Wednesday – The ultimate temptation day! I had to hop to a few receptions, and I don’t know how I managed to stay away from the wine and bread. I think I might have shed a few tears. I was proud of my resolve, though. The temptation at those receptions was what led me to gain so much weight in the first place! Saying no to just about everything (I’ll admit I had to have about a tablespoon of that amazing crab dip) made me feel proud. When I returned home that night, I saw that I’d lost two pounds since my initial weigh-in for the DietBet. Now that made me proud! It’s great when you know you’re doing the right thing, and then you receive further positive news and reinforcement. So many pats on my back! To quote my best friend, I go girl!
Thursday – Decided to venture to my gym and take cardio kickboxing. I wrote about it here. It was amazing and I loved it!
Friday – Rock climbing! Not sure how many hours I’m going to get in this evening, but I’m sure it will be at least two. Wish me luck!
Saturday – Hopefully I wake up in time for Vinyasa Yoga at my gym. I love it! Plus, I can get a yoga workout in before heading to work for a few hours. If I don’t wake up in time, I’m going to hit up the gym for some tabata and weight lifting.
What are you plans for this weekend and the upcoming week? What did (or didn’t) you do this week? Are you keeping up with any resolutions you might have made?
