Workout Wednesdays: What’s Your Favorite Sport?

Femme Fitale Fit Club

People, people, people… I am POOPED! I started my old/new job this week (I’ll explain some other time), and I have been helping out with the college volleyball team I’m assistant coaching this season. Between the job transition, coaching, and trying to get some rest, I have been neglecting my exercise and blog. I’m sorry! I’m sure you all, in all of your loveliness, totally understand. 🙂

This week, once again, I am linking up with the lovely ladies of the WOW Linkup. This week’s theme is, “What’s Your Favorite Sport?” Now, unless you haven’t been paying attention, you should know that my favorite sport to play is volleyball. Little known fact about me? My favorite sport to watch is…
BASEBALL!

Didn’t see that coming, did you?

Back when I was a wee lass, I absolutely loved baseball. I watched games on TV with my dad, and on a rare occasion, got to attend Baltimore Orioles games. I started playing softball (which is what the girls played back then), and played for quite a few years. I was pretty good at it, and I really loved it; however, my sophomore year in high school forced me to choose between playing coed volleyball or playing softball. I chose volleyball, and the rest is history!

Even though I don’t play softball anymore, I still enjoy watching baseball. I know a lot of people think it’s boring to watch it on television, but I still dig it. (Maybe the tight pants have something to do with that?) Of course I love going and watching games live, but I still love watching it on TV as well.

What’s a sport that you love to play or watch that you think might surprise some people? Are there any sports that you love to watch in person, but put you to sleep when you watch them on television?

  1. Watching baseball on TV definitely bores me. It's all about the ambiance, hot dogs, beer, etc. for me. Hmm sports that are surprisingly fun to watch: water polo, team handball, table tennis, badminton. I love when the summer Olympics come around or when I'm traveling in Asia and get to watch all the fun sports that aren't often shown here 🙂 #wowlinkup

  3. Did you watch the little league champion ship games? Of course I had to bring it up because my hometown won the national title LOL. I used to keep up with the games when I was young but not anymore. I hope that seeing the little African American boys win the championship will encourage more AA boys to take up baseball, again. #wowlinkup

  4. I like listening to football, but not because I cheer for anyone. Back before kids, my husband would watch football and I'd snooze on the couch. There is something very relaxing about the sound, is that weird?! #wowlinkup
